Garden Spot Village, the flagship community of Garden Spot Communities, introduced person-centered care in the skilled nursing households in 2006. Nearly 20 years later Garden Spot is partnering with the Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing at NYU’s Rory Meyers College of Nursing to develop a designation of excellence in person-centered long-term care. Garden Spot is one of five communities nationwide working on the initiative, which is funded through a grant from the Mayer-Rothschild Foundation.
